That was my opinion too. Bought a pot after all the blurb, never had an improve in catch rates whatsoever or something that suggests it. The pot is still half empty now, I'm sure that it will take a long time to use it all, if I will ever do it.

It's effective but it's sensitive. Absolutely pointless pre cooking. And a lot of what's sold despite being pretty crystals isn't pure, it's much better in a soak. And it's one of those that doesn't have a lot of room for error between not enough and too much.
Carp are very very sensitive creatures bear in mind

IMHO, DMPT isn´t worth the hassle
Too much faffing around, chasing your own tail, in order to get it right, and when you finally do, the rewards aren´t worth the initial trials.
Best to keep it simple, and forget about "wonder ingredients" that will get carp crawling up ye lines
Ain´t happening, mate
Use the basic tried and tested attractors that´ve been around for ages, that do the job. Learn to use and maximize their effectiveness, FIRST, under the right conditions. Then again, if you choose to experiment, then go ahead by all means, till the next "wonder attractor" enters the scene, and leads you astray, once again.
No-one that has already extensively tested DMPT, so far, has given a definitive answer to your question, for some reason or another
Served on a silver platter OR put the work in & learn from your mistakes, come to mind
As far as i´m aware, DMPT is best used, in a liquid mixture in which the minor component (DMPT) is uniformly distributed within the major component (water etc), then your hookbaits are soaked in this solution. No heat treatment involved. As to the exact ratio of DMPT to solvent, i have no idea, and have personally chosen not to pursue. I have heard mentioned, half a teaspoon to a liter of water, if memory serves me right, but could be way off.
I tend to be VERY cautious, when dealing with certain ingredients that require "minute" doses.
