Hit me like a ton of bricks
He had a good life, bless him, and left his pawprint on my heart. Died because of kidney failure, so no more pain for my best buddy anymore. We spent quality time, together on the bank, and he´ll surely pay me a visit in the future, and probably iead a 60 straight to my hookbait. 
Gone but never forgotten 
Bought a miniature bivvy for him, but he just wanted to cuddle up close in my bag
Got rid of the bivvy in the end, because he took over my bedchair, and let me sleep next to him

It does mate and I'm dreading the inevitable myself as it's totally destroys you. I find comfort in that I've given all the love and care I could and if I wasn't getting on a bit I'd have another dog from the dogs home the very next day.
Dogs are truly amazingly and with love like no other.
