About 20 years ago, I came up with an idea of how good it would be for a tackle company to "invent" some bivvy furniture like a set of cupboards, but as there was non, I invented my own.

The first one was a set of 3 shelves on legs that I could collapse, but it was bulky.

I then created 3 shelves with paracord through all the corners and hung it up from a long bankstick inside the bivvy, but that was only any good if I was not using a groundsheet.

So my next effort was three slats of wood horizontal and two vertical slats which locked together like those things that you used to get to put ornaments on the wall back in the 60's, but that was a bit narrow and unstable.

My next idea was to buy a set off those plastic drawers with 4 drawers in that you can get from the likes of Wilko's etc for about £12 to £14 and reinforce them, and use them instead of my tackle bag. Straight out of the car and into the bivvy loaded up with all my tackle or onto the barrow. But, I never followed it through and found another use for the drawers.

And then I thought, what is the point of carrying some shelves or a cupboard, stock it up with stuff from my tacklebag/foodbag etc, and then when I pack up, empty it and put it all back in my bag. I find packing up a pain, but this was creating extra work for no real reason.

So I dropped the idea and just got one of those storage things you put on the back off a car seat for about £5 from Boyes etc with lots of pockets in, especially if you divide some of them up by sewing some partitions in and just stick it to the side of the bivvy with magnets and that is what I just use these days. I can pack my bivvy up with it in place or remove it and fold it up with it still packed and put it in my bag.

But, reading about the Nash "thing" its got me interested again, but not at that price, that Hi Gear one looks good though, Aldi's do them as well during the Summer, but, our Lass has thrown a plastic veg rack out that fits in the corner of a pantry etc, stands about 3' high and has three shelves and comes apart so I might bring that into action, if I can mentally unblock the pointlessness of having to "stock" up a cupboard or shelves from having things all stashed in a sensible place to start with and then having to put them back in the bag at the end of the session.

Aldi do two types, a tall one and a wide one for about £35 and £39. Probably be on sale again this Summer:-

I can appreciate you pay for carp tax etc but you also get some additional features the aldi or hi gear ones don't have like adjustable legs or entry points for cables etc.

At the end of the day if this table lasts me a few years the £79 really isn't a lot. Hell thats not even a good night at the pub anymore 😂

The Hi gear ones seem to be wider, longer and deeper and will take up more room so might be a tight squeeze in a 1 man bivvy. Plus they arent green

Just received mine and like it a lot. small and light packed away. I bought the compact and more then enough space for what I need. They do also make a larger standard bedside table btw which is 64cm wide so in line with the hi tech or aldi ones for size/space

But for my needs the compact is perfect

The twist and lock legs are a bit naff tho I received mine and they don't pull out. They seem really tight.

Dunno I used mine the weekend and the legs worked well. Mine was lose though could pull them out completely had to tighten them. From my experience so far really like it
