Have you tried it, or are you speculating? I've used it and it casts further than mono, trust me it flies off the spool!

I've just asked about this issue in a separate thread . I currently use 0.37 esp syncro loaded and was wondering whether I would find the Gardner noir harder to cast perhaps up to 100 yards , thanks .

I've used it in 22lb and it's more than capable of hitting a 100 yards and I'm not a caster. It's a rough braid in my opinion and very strong. Cut through my alarms but I do alot of snag fishing locked up.

Since replaced it for that matter as it was damaging my kit. It's a fantastic braid and if I went to roller wheel alarms I'd use it again

I've used the standard hydrosink in both .30 and .35. It casts ok for a sinking braid, but the .35 will not go as far as .35 synchro mono. I guess it depends on the mono you are comparing to, but a true sinking braid will always be heavier than mono of the same diameter.

You can't be trying to say that the Noir will fly off the spool like 0.18 floating braid? It's just not possible.

Thanks for the replies . I've not heard of buzzers getting damaged by braid . I use Delkims but never locked up so not sure if this would be a problem . Incidentally , with mono you get an element of line twist when you play fish off the clutch . Is this something that you would get whilst using braid , thanks?

Not with braid no. Certainly a big positive.

And yeah cut right through the alarm nearly taking one side off. But the water I was on did require alot of locked up work.

No, floating braid will cast further that Noir but I still hold fast on saying noir will cast further than comparable mono. Vinnie can try it and confirm 🙂
