Me too perhaps a two week forum social on a few pontoons at Dale Hollow rods in a tube, tackle box, alarms and reels in the suitcase and leave enough room for a spare change of pants.

Yes watched a video on dale hollow and it looked good ...you could do a similar thing nearer the UK
have a google of Embalse de Alqueva in Portugal / Spain (approx 5%)... western europes largest resevoir ... 110.000 hectares .....83km long ...1.160km of coastline its an inland sea with houseboats / holidays etc etc and truly fishing for the unknown as its a young resevoir but its the river Guadiana flowing in ..soo good carp and Barbel
we were doing our homework on this area with a view to buying a home &boat there and escape the heat of Murcia in July n Aug then the pandemic came along and put things on hold for awhile but we will see what the future brings

It does sound fantastic to be honest..I got this mental picture of carp fishing,survivalist,bushcraft ,wildness ...freedom..!!

And those lovely scale patterns..thats just as good as it gets..
