If that's your experience fair enough. Where I fish they were banned under the pretext of fish welfare.( right or wrongly) The bait had not blown at that time.

No baits don't "blow", absolute nonsense anyone saying they do.
On one of my waters they get fed pellets by the bailiff. They are showing no signs of not eating them, despite a couple of years of continuous introduction. In fact I'd go as far as to say that they are so switched on to them that at times it's difficult to get a bite on anything else.
I reasoned that this might be because they can eat so much of them without encountering a hook very often. But if you think about it that's no different to any other bait. If guys were introducing kilos and kilos of peanuts or a particular boilie then 99% of the time they wouldn't come across a hook either.
I think what happens is that a particular bait gets dominant. Then someone uses something different and catches. So others start trying it and they catch. So then a myth grows up that all the bites are coming on the new fad. So the old one must have blown.
I personally think it's nonsense.

Not often I find myself disagreeing with you Ian, but I think that poor baits will blow, quality baits just keep going.

To be honest Andy you may well be right, I've not used poor baits for a couple of decades to find out
