Many thanks for the info everyone much appreciated. Yes I think therefore that I was fishing Carolina, I remember even years ago the caravan park savannha lake was already dead mans shoes membership!!

All of those maxey lakes are shadows of there former selves , some of them dont even have a syndicate on them now .
Predation and no money invested back into the fisheries over the years has taken its toll on them.

Hi mate thanks so much for reply and totally agree. I was last back to UK 3 years ago pre covid and took mum for a walk around those lakes. I remember as a child when Tony had first had lakes. I lived in Tuckers Nook it was all gravel bank then from the back of house, we used to swim in it! I remember( just )about the first people catching carp on a centre Pin we would watch. Having fished in the eighties before I left UK I had a few doubles from Carolina lake but mostly I enjoyed just being there, Remember Ron the old baliff? Anyway yes getting back to neglect of the lovely lake last time I was there I remember thinking how negleted it is..needs a good chain saw to clear all and some tender loving care .I would truly like to fish it again when I am back to UK soon after many years away... Just for the roach and rudd and small fish...I remember Old Ron insisting there were Tench in there but I think not! my biggest Tench was from number one Pit when it was under DSJ angling club.....Anyway I am rambling on now about old fishing days

I Would truly love to fish that lake in Maxey again, even going so far as pumpimg some more fish /Money /Tench/lillies/dive/see whats in to it ....Yours.. Was it maxey 2 that had a fully scaled high 20 or 2? Saw it under the trees once in the crystal clear water, stunning fish.
