I always use boilie paste too...the peanut butter is for me!

Paste is many times better than just a boilie...gives off more scent.

Also when you're using the trap near the bivvy you can smear a tiny bit into the mud between the rats run-route and trap...just to get them looking. Then they find the trap and wake you up.

I recently got the metal traps from ScrewFix. I think the rats are more suspicious of these...had more 'bites' on the wooden based traps.
