Just looking at the Prestige site Tony and it looks like they've release a Fatboy wheel conversion 'kit' for £650 . . .if you then look at the new updated mk2's (Streamline / Standard / Wideboy) they all say they can accept this kit . . .?
Might email prestige as to whether this is what they were inferring - you could buy a mk2 streamline for £100 and then add the kit making the total £750 . .

The email I received stated a complete new powerporter,it never mentioned a barrow and power kit separately.It might be worth an ask though Chris,let me know what you find out

£650 seems very steep to me. When someone mentioned a kit a few months back I expected sub £500. It's a wheel, a motor, a couple of batteries and some cheap Chinese electronics. From what I can tell they don't actually manufacture any of the major components themselves. At least with a full barrow you can see there's loads of actual manufacturing of the frame etc to do but what exactly are they doing for six hundred and fifty quid? Apart from importing it all and sticking it in a box.

I have a late MK6 24v bought in 2017 and it is heavy, there's no getting around it. the front wheel with the motor is heavy. Unfortunately I'm not one of those blessed with a Van and ramp so I have to take mine apart every time and stow it in the car for transport. It is painful, but I tell you what, I wouldn't be without it, the amount of gear I take is frankly ridiculous, but I'd rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.
There's no way I could move the amount of **** I carry without it and in my mind its one of those essential buys. They seem to go up in price every year. Think I paid about £750 for mine but they are now nudging a grand aren't they? I'd still buy one at that price if mine got robbed tomorrow lol.
In winter that front wheel always get caked in crap and I spent ages cleaning it when I got home until I bought the £50 bag which is designed for the wheel. Drop it in that now and mud falls off inside another hit to the wallet but worth it.

I'm going to look at my mates next week.
I've not got a van either. My carp porter mk 2 goes in the back of my peugeot 3008 easily.
I agree with you about too much gear but I like to be comfy and If I need it it's with me not at home cos it's too heavy to carry.
I've got 2 metal hips so I need to be careful.
I spoken to prestige and they say there are no new versions due out that are much lighter in weight.
I'm undecided what to do but after looking at one next week I'll make my mind up.
It's a shame no shows are on to look at the various options.

I have only just replaced the batteries on it. The best bit of advice I could give you is do it. The funny thing will be, once you have one you will be cursing for not buying one sooner haha.
For me it's one of those bits of kit that would never sell. I'd probably part with my Vic Gibson corked Torrix before flogging that.

I have spoken to two people at prestige. Both said the newer version is lighter but not significantly so.
You might have more details but that was the impression I got.

Agree Tony this was my understanding - ie. a dedicated mk2 with power and fat boy tyre . . .I would strip off the side bars and rod rest (redundant) and hope for a decent barrow bag . . .failing that you don't see many 2nd hand Metros for sale and they do come with rear wheel option included. . .the price is silly tho . . .

The evo model comes with the rear wheels and is slightly bigger I think.Prestige told me it's going be a mk2 with two different wheel options

Doesn't seem to be many Carp Porters available anywhere at the moment....🤷♂️....I'm looking for a triporter conversion kit and nowhere has them in stock but then looking deeper there's not much of anything in stock....Covid production problems at Prestige maybe? They certainly can't blame it on a ship stuck in the canal...

A 350watt 24v 14.5 inch wheel hub motor is around £150 with controller throttle batteries and parts my conversion will cost me round £350.
