I've had one for several years and use a zippo lighter to light it. They are good and I've had mine in the sleep bag etc last around 16 hours when filled using the measuring pourer they come with. I purchased a spare wick and haven't needed it as yet use it about 5-10'times a year.

very good, i have the whitby hand warmer which runs on lighter fuel, they are great on cold days

I have the zippo and the boston and the rechargeable.
the zippo's a pain to get going and you need to carry fuel, fill etc.
the boston beats the zippo hands down but still needs fuel.
IMHO the rechargeable scores highest. Charge and leave in rucksack, use when needed by simply pushing a button. For a 10er, can't be beaten. Great for flinging in the bag on a cold night to heat up yer feet. It also charges my phone if required.

Hi, got Zippos, i have 2 S-Boston Handwarmers, use them & there excellent.
Battery cover will break, so have to use say Duck tape to hold them on.
But rechargeable with Li ion Batteries, i think are even better, they have moved on alot.
Get Hot !!!(try holding one on full power) & now last Hours.
Both below 10,000 mAh.
Cheapish one i bought, comes in generic packaging.

I've been fishing several days this week and needed the Zippos with the icey nights and cold evenings. They are perfect, cheap to use, last hours and are easy to light if you know what to do ie use the lighters with the blue flame and not a bog std cig lighter.

Hi, Zippo's not as flexable as S-Boston, or as good.
Can turn S-Boston on & off (turn cover around), easy lit with battery ignition.
Revelation compared to Zippo's.
S-Boston even harder to get now & very expensive.
Got Zippos (had em years) light with a Turbo lighter.
There OK when there working good, but heads can be/ can get temperamental. Bought a few more heads for them,
case of luck, if you get a good head (especially with later design).
Makes me wonder if they decreased amount of Platinum in them.

Tip, Zippo's or S-Boston, top up wadding with a strip of carbon fibre matting, thickish loose felt type(for soldering), some even stuff all compartment with it.
This stops it getting burnt/ singed & getting hard on the top, causing it not to work as good.
