A few years ago I bought a load of Tangerine Dream scraps/misshapes and fed 1-3kg per week over the winter. Every single fish I caught or saw caught was passing orange sludge. Well and truly digested.
The Instant Action range is low protein compared with say, Scopex Squid, which makes it ideal feed for the winter.
Now days I feed the scraps on and off all year round and the carp keep on eating it.

Dogs digestive systems are not very quick and they do send a lot of stuff out their arse not properly digested, my old dog **** out a whole dog treat before so it's not that surprising really. Not that I'd ever recommend any shelf life bait, but that's a different debate altogether

Problem with this kind of bait is that 1) it's Nash and 2) it's shelf-life so the bait snobs will immediately turn their noses up......

I used the Coconut Cream on a small Golf Course lake I fished a few years ago, it wasn't a big lake at all, fairly deep at 8 to 10 ft and the carp were very wary, (mainly due to golf balls landing on their heads or golfers falling in the lake as they retrieved balls from the out of bounds slope, which honestly did happen.... )

The CC was awesome on there for some reason and when others couldn't buy a bite i was catching, maybe the ultra bright white colour, sweet flavour or a combination of both I don't know but they used to sh!t it out all over the mat as well so they were eating it....

Another good shelfie if you like a light coloured bait is Quest Baits Magnum White....

To my knowledge I was the first to night fish that place exclusively for the carp. 20-25 years ago it was a match lake but me and a pal had noticed them piling the weight on. We spoke with the guy that ran it at the time and he wrote us out a special night ticket. We had it to ourselves for the first year or 2, it was awesome. We'd fish under the tips, 6 inches off the bank, and 10-20 doubles/20s a night was the norm. Proper hectic fishing.
Obviously the carp guys clocked us eventually and the guy cashed in and sold a bunch of night tickets. Margin bites dried up and all the action moved to the far margin. Very fond memories of that place, I was only a kid really.
I went back for a year maybe 10 years ago when it first went syndi. A fun little water.

It sure was Ian, I haven't fished it for about 5 years now but even though it got a lot harder you could still get the odd big hit, I remember one crazy afternoon in June having 12 up to 28lb plus a Cat in a 7 hour period whilst everyone else blanked.

I understand it has been netted and a lot of silvers removed plus the stunted Carp with bad mouth damage from the bad old days! Heard it has got a lot harder but they go up to about 38 in there now apparently, at least they did when I last spoke to the guy that runs it a couple of years ago.

My main worry with that place now would be predation. It was never fenced and previously the Golf club would not allow it to be along that out of bounds bank anyway, (might have changed?). You have got the KLV lake over the road which has been ottered, (there were some lovely scaly ones in there as well at one point, I'm sure you have probably fished it... ) and there is a little brook that runs from that lake, under the A14 and behind Headlands....although it dries up for most of the year it does fill when the KLV lake gets flood water in from the Slade Brook/Ise...

Yeah the risk of predation is always there mate

The big common currently in there is a corker. I know a couple of chaps that have had it, one of whom is on here. In all my old pics I cant see that one so I dont think I ever had it back in the day. It's only 20 minutes from where I work and I actually considered having a pop for it on work overnighters. Might still look into it once this covid ***** is under control.

The Common is a lovely fish, (I never had it either!) and there's some lovely scaley ones in there as well....

It's not cheap now for what it is, £400 for the year....

Does Greg still run it? I had a nice common of 31lb 5 years ago, I assume that is the one that is now 38?

Are you sure?
