That may be so but some of the shades of Aquatexx Cyprinus bang out vary massively....it has been suggested before that they get the rejects and off-cuts and I very much believe it.

I have bought the Typhoon MH DPM and it's good, but it is seeming lacking a bit of quality. The storm poles slide down after some tension has been applied after a few minutes. The DPM material is good as it's 20k HH but the stitching is not very good. Looks very average. The vapour shield is very poor quality. The skull cap is nowhere near worth £110. It's very poor quality for this price tag. All in all. I'm £660 in and I'm satisfied with the room/space it provides, vents etc. In terms of quality I'm disappointed. Although I can't compare it to Trakker as I've never had one.
They may be done in the same place then but like a few has already mentioned possibly rejects or cut offs because they are not the the same quality and anyone who has actually owned a tempest and a typhoon will say the quality is no where near as good, my tempest next to my mates typhoon you could see the difference and only way I could see why you would get one is because someone doesn't want to pay out for a tempest or a titan
I don't have any pictures but I no what I've seen myself, fair play to cyprinus tho they replaced it free of charge but he just sold it straight away without using it and bought a tempest

They aren't from the same factory and they dont use Aquatex, no one else in Angling use's Aquatex because Trakker has the sole license for it in the angling industry, the same material goes under other names in other industries.
I'll ask again, doesn't anyone think it odd that there has been nothing in print from Trakker about Cyprinus sending out counterfeit/inferior product in Trakker branded boxes?

I have a Cyprinus K2 and it's a decent bivvy/ brolly for the money.
In terms of the fact it might be made in the same factory as Trakker/Aqua,it probably is. I work in the food industry and we make products for Waitrose, Tesco on the same line as products for Aldi with very much the same recipe.
It happens in every manufacturing industry so why think fishing would be different?

That's a bold statement considering they actually emailed me telling me they share the production costs. So you are saying they lied to me? and you know different. I'm working this weekend but when I get a minute I will post up the entire conversation
As regards quality,I personally think like all manufacturers there's gonna be good and bad in all ranges. I have owned Union Jack Aqua in the past and it was streets ahead of their current output. I currently own two cyprinus shelters and a tempest. I wouldn't say there's a great deal of quality difference in what I own. The tempest is probably a bit better overall but cost more than double the others.
But here's the thing, cyprinus isn't trying to be a premium brand, it's not aimed at guys who fish £1000 a year syndicates and do 100 nights a year. It for people like my mate who has just done his first ever nights fishing as he's looking to take up a new hobby as he approaches retirement. There's no way he's gonna buy a trakker or aqua shelter for nearly a grand, but he will spend cyprinus amounts of money for the few times he's gonna go.
With regards to Aquatex, that is owned and produced by Sylkay Textiles. It's a brand name for a fabric which is simply an outer fabric layer with a plastic membrane bonded too it. As far as I'm aware there's nothing particularly unique about it. So yes Trakker/Aqua May well license that particular fabric from that particular manufacturer but that doesn't actually mean that all the other bonded fabrics used by anyone else aren't just as good, it just means they aren't made by Sylkay. These Boned materials aren't even unique to tent manufacturers, it's used in outdoor clothing for instance

I bought a Cyprinus Magnetix brolly in their eBay auctions at the start of the year for about £90. Whilst this one seems no longer to be made, the material quality is way in excess of the last brolly I had, which was an original Aqua. If that's anything to go by, I would not in the slightest be concerned about buying any of their bivvies

I've got a cyprinus fast and light and I've just bought an aqua atom plus. Although I've not had them out side by side (because I can't be arsed) I would guess the material on the f&l is slightly thicker.
