I actively promote my Instagram page right now, so as you might imagine, I always need to have high-quality photos. And an iPhone camera is a real blessing for me. Sometimes I go far away to take a good shot, or can just be on my feet all day long. So I can't imagine myself going somewhere with a camera, because it's just not convenient. Only once, there's a bad moment when I smashed the phone, but my sister told me about changement d'ecran iphone paris, so everything turned out fine. Btw, the iPhone night mode is just incredible. Don't understand how someone may dislike it.

Unless you feel the need to have picture perfect photos then personally I wouldn't bother with a separate camera.
Phones nowadays can take great pictures, I use a phone popper on the back of my phone with a bank stick and rod rest.
If it's at night then just add a separate light, which we all carry anyway. My photos are for nostalgia so I dont get too worked up about having picture perfect photos, each to their own though

A proper camera is always going to come out on top here. You wouldn't need a high end, big dslr to get brilliant trophy shots though. A second hand Nikon D5000 series or Canon equivalent and a 35 or 50mm prime is more than adequate for most tastes. Those combos could be picked up easily for £200-300.

I did have an 11pro for a while, very good lenses and used with a bluetooth remote and smart phone clamp, took very decent pictures, much better than ANY smart phone I'd ever used in fact. No replacement for a good DLSR and a Prime Lens... but when I wanted to travel light, say if I was lure fishing or stalking, was a very neat set-up. Just screwed the clamp onto a bank stick. I recently replaced it with the latest 13pro max and that's even better. I often use my iPhone for adhoc snaps when fishing, like this bee... you can see how good things are getting.

i much prefer my Canon SLR, but understand why people use their phones due to them being small and pretty good to be fair, in saying that, there nothing better than an SLR in my book

Mirrorless cameras are the future,the Sony a7 range are amazing.Im just debating on pre-ordering the mk4,a mate of mine uses the mk3 for all his wedding photography.They are lighter,smaller and better technology than the dslr's and have a good range in lenses now too 👍

I think some of these have in-body image stabilisation, which can be very useful in low light situations.

The size advantage is overstated tbh, in a lot of cases the mirrorless kit can end up bigger overall
I'm not fussed having the latest bodies, I'd rather buy them 18 months-2 years later and put the grand I've saved to use on lenses. Specs get hyped massively but there isn't usually a huge difference in one generation

That's an interesting camera the a7IV, a sort of hybrid. The IV bridges between the a7sIII but with a higher pixel count more adept for daytime pictures, although the a7III is just as capable.
I don't know what you plan to use it for, if you do get one, try using the movie mode. For me personally, I just love what the A7s series does with video, the results are truly stunning, warm and inviting, nothing I've seen thus far come even close. Been a long time Canon user and have no need to go back to them as I much prefer Sony, especially so on the video side of things. Sony a7 cameras are a winner for me.

I don't use it too much,but I got a old four thirds mirrorless Lumix g3..
If I videoed ,say myself..with a nice fish ,how would be able to make a picture ,or still ?
