If you need a shockleader to cast long distance, the chances are from around 40-50metres out it is laying on the lakebed anyway, unless you have a lakebed like an egg crate, so the shockleader is not going to stick out.

Fox Exocet Mono Trans Khaki is and it's the same line just with tapered ends. It's junk.
I won't deny that you can cast with it, though it damages really easily and has a memory when stretched.
