Exactly that. I used BBC for years and was forever moaning to myself it was ****, I don't know why it took so long for me to try something else.
Someone I know recommended XC so I tried it and find it accurate.

I use YR for the weather.
There is also My Weather Radar which is quite good.

An amusing tale regarding Metcheck. I used to live in the Lakes. I had a boat on Windermere and fished it for many years for pike and ferox. The weather forecast was important because it could be a dangerous place in the wrong weather.
Back in around 2005 I used to use Metcheck (no apps then, just online). This one time I checked the site and they were forecasting gale force winds and lashings of rain. I looked out of the windows and it was still, clear and frosty.
I checked other sources which all virtually agreed on light winds, clear and cold so the following day I went afloat. Before I left home I checked Metcheck again and it was still forecasting horrendous weather.
That night the forecast by MC was still bad. The following day was different but still awful. All the time all the other sources agreed on settled weather.
I got in touch with MC asking why they thought their forecast was so far wrong.
A couple of days later I got the reply that said that somehow, data from a weather buoy somewhere in the North Sea was being passed directly to the website as the forecast for the north of England. A bit of a cock-up on the data front.
It did make me smile.
