So with my young lad still in pain Im not going fishing this weekend. i decided to put the Tempest back up
for the requested side shot with the Wideboy. I also used a small tarp as a groundsheet to see if that would get wet.

as I was setting it up the heavens opened. Force of habit had me setting the front lower. it is set at 130cm. I've enclosed a shot of the
tension strap to show by how much. hope these photos are of some use.

now with some at full height.







At Full height. the only difference on cover is a cm or two less overhang really.
ok.its just gone 7.20pm and it is literally lashing it down. i just scurried out to check the bed and bag
and its bone dry as is the tarp. the rain gutter is doing a better job right now than my gutters.

now if it was blowing in, with no front, then thats a problem. with the full size pio, you are so far back its never an issue. but thats a different type of longer stay shelter entirely.

Bone dry. That's encouraging. it was rough last night and my back garden is surrounded by woodland so its still
soaking wet out there.

The bivvy is a little saturated . not beading at the moment due to the atmosphere . there was a wet mark on the bed , turns out it was my footprint
from yesterday afternoon. so if any rain had got in it would still show.

ps , the bed could go further back a few inches if rain is blowing in and you don't mind touching the sides.

I have the infill, it wont work with the bivvy splayed out like the second photo, id also suggest the poles will wobble a bit unless you use the tension strap to set it out . Ive used it a few times and it really wants to stand in the position it goes into with the tension strap conected, Once pegged out and tension strap released its very solid, storm poles make it very strong also.
Edit, looking at the photos above im surprised the poles splay out like that its almost impossible to get mine that low, I will try again the next time i go out.

Your right the infill can't fit with it set wider
Well, you can't zip the door.
It's not wobbly set lower. If anything it's probably steadier.
Personally, and from watching videos you have to actually pull
It inwards to connect the strap. So it actually sits a bit lower
When first unpacked.

thanks mate, if it wasnt getting dark id be out there now, having a look as its a little bit high if i was being really fussy with the tension strap, great shelter though, very pleased with it.

i find i u peg the centre rear one down. then the two widest side ones a bit wider to your taste
then the two further back to match up it goes low and solid.and no baggy bits etc.

with using the infill, i guess it doesnt matter if its high . nothings coming in

Someone who knows if the Tempest 100T is bigger on the inside than the Quest Outer Block Bivvy (don't rely on the Dimension given on the Quest site bivvy is a lot smaller inside)

Thanks to your pictures I decided to purchase one instead of the hide xl that I was going to get. Managed to get browns last one and put it up in the garden today.
Does anyone know what groundsheet fits it and other accessories?
Are the different models extras interchangeable? Thanks again.
