Wtf. That is still a crazy number of big fish. I bet there aren't that many 50s in the midlands and north of England, ignoring the multiple wronguns!

It did have 22 x 50's and about 25 x 40's at the same time around 4 years ago. But those fish date from the mid to late 1970's and unfortunately nothing last for ever and the are slowly fading away each year. And it would as probably had a detrimental effect of those big old fish, if they started added stockies during the peak of the lake..
But your paying for a lot more than just the stock. It's very safe and secure and the etiquette is generally of the highest order plus it's a very picturesque mature lake these days.

22x50 and 25x40 is an amazing stock and I can see why the ticket price was as high as it is, I'm not convinced on what people are saying is the current stock that it's worth over £2k a year. There's plenty of safe, beautiful water that don't cost anything like that.

I agree. It was £2100. From £1200 to £1500 is a realistic price to ensure all 50 tickets are sold.

Yes, I've heard the same, that it is a great atmosphere and camaraderie amongst the anglers. I've only fished one lake in my whole life that had a fifty in, to still have four fifties in Wellington it is an amazing venue. Judging by Darrell Peck's recent results at Welly , the back-up fish ain't too bad!

There are plenty of other waters with equal and better stocks and lovely surroundings, you just know about them because they dont have tackle/bait company knob head's on them trying to push a product or making a ***** video.

I've just received a call from them to ask if I want to still be on the list and they would charge me £100 to do so. I've been on that list for 8yrs without an offer of a place and I know of a couple of people who got offers quicker than that. I politely declined!
I asked about the fish deaths and was told they had a lost a couple 😂
