We'll all be moaning when Angling Direct are the only option, and you're waiting 4 weeks for a packet of bait stops...
Use your local whenever you can. Ring them, as many are doing click and collect. Many shops can ask the reps to bring in the stuff required If they are not in stock.
If your local hasn't been doing click & collect, don't have e-commerce or use royal mail to transport goods, then they need to stop wondering why people use Angling Direct or eBay in the first instance.

They don't have any hair stops in stock so it will be longer than 4 weeks

I ordered from total fishing tackle, and when I didn't get it after a week I emailed.... got told hopefully be despatched in the next few weeks.
It's a busy time yes, reduced working but that's almost useless information

One thing to take into consideration at the moment as well , is a reduced staffing level in the warehouse, not only for furloughed staff but due to them needing to socil distance in the picking and packing areas

I have had some bits from the Tackle Box and Johnson Ross recently. Excellent service and the goods arrived two days later.

Yes that is probably the reason for it.
However if Angling Direct cannot see that they are being ineffective during this time then more fool them.
As i have experienced and some others on this thread other companies are dealing with the situation in a sufficient way with realistic delivery times.
I've always been quite happy with Angling Direct but can see i will be spending my money elsewhere.

I've seen loads of people with unmarked vans delivering in the last several weeks. Got talking to a couple of lads that were working together in a big sprinter. They said they were builders but had no work and had found a website where you bid for delivery packages. If your say going to Birmingham for a delivery bid on everything you can going to Birmingham from your area till the vans full. Said they were earning a fortune! Told me some horror stories of 2/3 lads going out on deliveries allegedly kipping in the van for several days. Also that quite a few couldn't give a rats arse what box they delivered to you or what condition as long as they delivered something they got paid. Nightmare to sort for the customer as you can imagine. So sometimes better to take a bit longer and definitely get the right thing delivered in the right condition.

I ordered some line a few weeks ago and that took about 10 days whereas normally they turn stuff around in about 2. If they can't fulfill orders, they shouldn't take your money. I've got my fingers burnt and won't be in a hurry to go back.

I don't use online services much as I prefer to go into a shop, both local and non local. With all this going on though I've had to go online. I've had companies advertising stuff as “in stock” when in reality it wasn't! I've had to cancel a few orders because of this. The few orders that were delivered came fairly quickly to be honest.
I bought some reels from johnson ross last week and asked them to delay the sending out by a couple of days as no one home which they were more than happy to do and the reels arrived on the day I asked for! Fantastic service from johnson ross and I'm happy to put all future online orders to them. Highly recommended
