Now I'm in my 50s I'm finally feeling the cold. Anything other than summer it's the clobber taking up space. Plus I can't set up in it as I get so hot. So have to carry
Boots
Snugpak jacket
Thermal.bib n brace
Bridgewater socks
Merino top and bottoms
Waterproof if likely to rain.
No point in leaving it in the van as I basically end up
Wearing everything within a few hours.
I only take a small bucket with a kilo or less of bait
And a Pva pouch with essentials. Least of my worries LOL

What's your problem with taking everything you take? If it just because you're looking at other people and thinking that's how it should be done I wouldn't worry. I'm like you and take everything up to and including the kitchen sink but I like a bit of comfort. I'm happy to lug the gear so no way I'm not going to take my pillow/food etc just to be able to say I travel light

I would argue, but I don't want to do it only to say that I'm doing it for an argument. That's about how I understand your suggestion and your thoughts on packing or cushions when you travel. Traveling light is like an unplanned vacation for me when you take a travel swoosh, and that's it. Sometimes you have to stock up on something else. But it's weird for me to hear about pillows... do you take pillows with you? I even went to the hospital packed with pillows at https://www.spackmachine.com/ and told them I needed them for a lighter trip.

I suspect I wouldn't take nearly as much as I do if I didn't use a Power Porter.
Just being a bit different, I can't see a lot wrong with what you are taking to be honest. If you saw what I take, you'd think you were threadbare. If you're using it all or feeling like you are, then maybe the issue is transporting it to your swim and perhaps you could look at making that easier for yourself with the various barrow options that are now available?

Taking to much gear is what puts me off going fishing sometimes. I know for a fact i take to much but i just cant seem to cut down. My main carryall must weigh about 200kg atleast

The simple answer is take what you need!
I've written about my gear for an overnight on Ardleigh on other threads, but Rod holdall with bivvy, tackle box, bedchair with sleeping bag already in place, then almost everything else in or strapped to my rucksack, unhooking mat, food, water, cooking stuff, bait, although I would sometimes take an extra bait bucket.
I got it down so that I could carry it in 1 trip, although 2 if I had extra bait.
You shouldn't need phone charger for one night, come to that nor spare clothes, they can be left in car.
Do you need 3 buckets for bait?
Can you bag it down, and put them in one bucket?
Get a small stove rather than a flat cooker
