That's exactly how I'm finding it lately with reels.On my 10ft set up I have got the daiwa castizms(black,red and silver) version.I love them,but on my distance set up I'm struggling find a reel I honestly like.In last few years I have had,shimano aero technium 12000xtc's,shimano aero technium mgs 14000xtb's,original daiwa iso's,daiwa basia sld and now the power aero xtb.Oh all that money lost

I loved the original iso,felt strong and reliable,best built of the ones mentioned.I just felt like I was losing distance on my casting with them,maybe just me

You had the best imo with the original iso and you own the second best the castizm again in imo. I still dont know why daiwa discontinued the iso. On another note i could hit the same distance with my castizms that i could with my black mags when i had them so the castizm will wack a lead.

I was going have the new basia 19 scw until Daiwa cocked up again saying it was magsealed when it's not.Magseal might be a gimmick or a pain when comes to a service but my castizms are still as smooth as day one

That really bugs me, good reels sadly let down by a crap spool design. The clicker that doesn't click. The line behind the spool on occasion. Heard of line clips breaking, and the line guard breaking.
Apart from that they look cool 👍😁

You can get clickers from the older models for them . Its only the power aero and techs that have the weak spring apparently

No that design in its various guises has been poor since shimano changed to it, the original techs and longcasts had a completely different design with tension spring rather than torsion spring which was far superior and didn't suffer the problems this design does.
I have longcasts and tech spools from well over 15 years ago that haven't missed a beat

My Ci4 Big Baitrunners had the problem. When I bought a set of Power Aeros and saw the clicker was the same I sent them back and swore I'd never buy another Shimano until they changed the design.
