Catch limits
There's a daily limit on the number of fish you can take.
Coarse (freshwater) fish
Each day you can only take from rivers:
1 pike (up to 65cm)
2 grayling (30cm to 38cm)
15 small fish (up to 20cm) including barbel, chub, common bream, common carp, crucian carp, dace, perch, rudd, silver bream, roach, smelt and tench
Any eels you catch (except conger eels) must be released alive.
You can also take:
minor or ‘tiddler' species, such as gudgeon
non-native species
ornamental varieties of native species like ghost or koi carp

I would, but it would effectively ban live baiting, or using fresh deadbaits....

I thought it said on the petition that dead baiting , using fish from the same water was ok ?
Not sure about live baiting , but then I think that will have to be banned next .

So it does, I was still focused on the spelling errors from the previous paragraphs and that bit didn't sink in.

Which fish gets to be the baron? Will the Prince of the river outrank it?

I'll probably sign it, but it seems a bit half arsed like the otter petitions, I don't suppose they can edit it once it's been published

It says
We believe that there should also be a small allowance obtainable for predator anglers to be able to use only in the water they are caught in as bait.

We have precious few rights enshrined in law in this country. Why vote to sign them away. It's like the right to vote. If you don't want to exercise it then just don't do it. No need to recind the right to do it.

Unfortunately there is a unscrupulous minority that use and bend this rule to take as many fish as they possibly can
