i would stay away from carbon baits, all the hemp floated and when i tried to get in touch i was blocked, got the blokes mobile number off his page, very rude and threatened to come to my house, i will stick to hinders buying dry and cooking myself, dont be fooled by the price.

Funny that, I have been using Monster particles frozen hemp and after baiting noticed duck hoovering up something on the surface, chucked a handful in the edge, hey presto it floated.. and there's me ready to switch to Carbon!

I can't believe people would waste money buying from these companies. As if particle preparation is difficult or time consuming. You know what goes in when you DIY.

Yes i made that mistake, can do so much more doing it your self, i used monster before never had any problem but tried carbon because they had a great deal on was stupid to not take the deal was cheaper to buy prepared than make your own but wont make that mistake again. Hinders i can hightly reccomend on dry particle though if you like doing your self,

listen carbon baits is a fantastic company run by a very experienced carp angler who know what he is doing..
i bring up experienced as cooking particle sometimes requires that little extra attention to get the best from it !

I've often looked at these places as an option for grab and go baits, something I can have in the shed for those impromptu sessions, and a lot cheaper than the dynamite jars.
Is there a way to do shelf life hemp yourself that is as good as fresh?

No idea chap, as long as you know the day before you go then it's easily prepped overnight anyway, using either a cool box or flask for smaller amounts

In my case I have a river in walking distance, I'll often just decide to have an hour at the drop of a hat. It limits my free bait choices to pellets, tinned particles (mainly corn) and groundbait. I've done fine with those options to be fair

Fair enough, you can freeze it in small batches too if needed. I've used those tins etc of pre done particle before and never done as well on them tbh, but I do like all my bait fresh as possible (except for tigers and maples which I like to let slime). I wonder if vac sealing it into small bags would give it some sort of shelf life? Might give it a go and see

I've tried the Mason jar method for maize and tigers but they don't seem to have the same magic.
I should just do a batch of hemp and freeze it into small portions I can defrost quickly

That's it mate, it's better and so much cheaper. I really don't get why people use pre done particles, after all everyone can boil water

in your opinion, i had a terrible experience and the stuff all floated and got abused, so i wouldn't say its a fantastic company and the owner well might be a very experienced angler but has no customer service skills, very rude and threaten to come to my house. You probably have great experience with them but i didn't and wont make that mistake again, stick to cooking my own from hinders.
