No but seriously, have you considered a tapered mainline? At the strong end its no different than using a fluorocarbon leader and touch wood as of yet I've not lifted any scales whilst use a high diamater fluoro-leader

I think “Carp safety” is an ethical question which each angler needs to resolve in their own mind. Or give up the sport and take up.... knitting? 😉

No - but floater/zig fishing accounts for about 5-10pc of my fishing, so if I can do something 90pc of time that helps, sounds good to me.

I use the brown sensor. Never tried the clear so can't comment on it.

Btw I don't think matchmen use tubing, and they get to keep their carp in keepnets, tip the net into a weigh sling or similar device (like a trug for instance) and then tip them back in the lake.

I really wanted to like the MCF dumpers - but had to give up with them in the end. If you're using a PVA bag its a nightmare with it dumping the lead on the cast. I tried using PVA tape and string to tie the lead on for the cast but still lost the lead on occasions, and I just lost confidence in them - i,e. not knowing if there was a lead attached to the rig or not.
These days I stick with a normal rubber, just pushed on, or trim back the plastic clip. More often than not the lead gets dropped on a take, but Ive never lost a lead on the cast.

I'll tell you why, because it's bull****. Do you fish off the top? Do you zig fish?
The lifting of scales happens far less than some would have you believe. Lots of bits in use today that only benefit those selling the stuff.

Most clips lose the lead when using a PVA Bag unless you pva the clip to stop the lead coming off. Have you tried PVA tape? Might be better than PVA string.

the Nash tungsten 6mm tube beads work very well. I use them on esp tubing and they will come off..

I do like the look of them but am concerned now about your pva bag comment. Was that using the original design or the newer version?

I'm going to speak to the syndicate owner as i like the look of that Rig Morale braided tubing an can;t see what he wound have a problem with it.
