I'd like to get this off my chest as regards to esnes quarry. Theres still a few of the old originals left and had a number of fish over 20lb, yes the lake was stocked some years ago from edd Mathews and dave bailey. Dave bailey has nowt to do with esnes quarry any longer and solely runs the bowl. Having rejoined esnes I can honestly say theres a great bunch of lads that are willing to put the bait in which wasnt the case before. Most lads would only take just over a kilo of bait which isn't enough for 18acres. And as for the comment it was stocked with wrong un that is not the case at all.

I don't believe the size of a lake has any relevance to how much bait should be used in a fishing situation?

I have much more knowledge of esnes than most people having seeing it from being quarry workings with no water to actually stocking a few fish in myself many years ago(the originals) and fishing it on and off for over 15years..I have no gripe to bear with esnes ..stunning lake just unfortunately got in the wrong hands ... the stockings wiped out several of the originals I witnessed several carp dead and also talked to other previous members that witnessed this also .....you can run along now and tell Ed Matthews you put the world to rights on the carp forum regarding esnes quarry >

I have fished Esnes a cpl of years ago. After 72 fish most around 10/11 lb with the largest a common of 16lb I wasn't impressed. The videos relating to the feeding are all a blatant bending of the truth, over 3 months I seen D Bailey feed the fish 3 times once was with trout pellets. As I'm a local I know too well the info of how an over stocked over priced Pasties water isnt what you want to be spending your hard earned cash on. I made a post about this over a year ago with another account. Glad to add more light to what I would call a shambles of a syndicate...
