i really am not tarty over gear much prefering function and one thing with handles is they get used in cold wet conditions full of slimey bait and fish stuff
so a bit chunky t grip is a must for me
just to prove it some of the reels i use currently all have T's
and some of those should show just how untarty i am
few more some of which now reside in the reel museum in the front room aka shakespeareseat boxes

the paddle shape could work its that grippy stuff on it but its enough to make me think maybe i would not buy them
although if ss3000 handles are easily sourced
and its by no means the worst handle ive seen, who on earth thought stainless or any metal would make a nice material for a handle is beyond me

Like the look of these reels but what I wanna know is can the reel handles be changed, don't mean the arms just the handle, would like to stick some western development ones on them

You'd have to get lee valley customs or custom reels to machine a spigot but it's possible

Ive just tried my daiwa spod reel handle, fits spot on, only thing is it got a bit of silver on, but all folds nicely, and can still use spod reel with penn handle on.

Went on a reel sortie yesterday , checked out the penns, avid carp , and daiwa entoh tourni qd. The avid carp is an unkown but looks well made and has a nice handle compared to the penn.but is slightly heavier. The daiwa is class and it shows through and is the best of the bunch but it should be at that price.The penn on close inspection, its build looks on the cheap side matching its £120 price tag. I dont like the handle and the one I checked out had a slight rub on spool rotation, dont expect it to look like a reel at twice the price because it doesnt imo.
Having said that it is excellant value for money and matt black is all the rage, for that reason I bought a pair

What exactly do you want to use?
The spigot I'm talking about is the small silver part between the wooden knob and handle itself.
That doesn't screw into the arm, it's press fitted and needs drilling out I think.
I can see that being a complete waste of money

You are right. It would have to be drilled out, popped the logo cap off of the handle and there is no way to undo it apart from drill it

One of mine still loads the line towards the back of the spool. It looks like there is a washer I might be able to take out. I'd appreciate any advice from anyone that knows more about reels if it would be detrimental to the reel if I remove it? Thanks
