I dont need get over it and I could not care one bit what shelter you buy but you were the one saying how amazing it was then found faults.Im pretty sure you even came close to not having another frontier because of this,a forum is for discussions and finding out about things like this.The design of the frontier is really good but it's too heavy and I prefer my Aqua ultralite but we are all different

Also the owner of the XD and second year of use this year and it's been brilliant for me. I purchased the wrap for it at the start of this year and I'm really pleased with that. Only drawbacks are as mentioned by a few others, it does weigh a ton with everything in the bag and, after reading the reports, I'm more careful than ever when extending the front poles. Last thing I need is a ball joint popping out.
I wanted to buy the social cap for it but at £500 they can get knotted. I'll just use my T200 if I need a decent sized two man shelter.

I have had 7 fox bivvies/brollies,all had to go back due to leaking or manufacturing defects.

I had a mk 1 supa brolly, got years of good service out of it and still got it, doesnt leak. Bought the camolite SB mk 2 awesome kit, used it for a good few years now faultless.

My mate and his dad both had the mk1 supabrolly and they were both perfect but I had nothing but issues with the mk1 and mk2.The Frontier has got some really good features and I was very tempted but the weight and previous issues did play a part in me deciding to go for the Aqua ultralite.Im sat in it now for 48hrs and it's perfect for me

Weight difference between the Aqua ultralite and the Frontier x is 1.2kg will be around 500 grams if you leave half of the bivvy pegs at home (frontier has a ridiculous amount of bivvy pegs in the bag) + this weight is also with the extra mesh door/clear window so the weight is about the same between these 2
Transport size Frontier x 147cm vs Aqua ultralite 190cm.
Still Aqua is just very good but the transport length was an no go for me

I've had a couple of EasyDomes, the mk.l and mk.ll and the Jekh shelter that went over a 50inch brolly.
I broke, probably or possibly, heavy handed on an old front pole on the mk.l when it was about 5 years old. Fox replaced it for £15. A quick phone call to the customer service number (I was working at Viscount fishing tackle at the time), it arrived within a week.
Other than that problem of my own making I loved the bivvies.
I must admit that I've seen the latest offerings and I don't think much of them. The rear extension on the next Easydome should have been at the front.

Wondering about the X+. Does anyone know if it's possible to buy the X and inner dome separately? Seems to be possible for the XD, but can't see the X inner dome advertised as a separate item.

The inner dome was 100% worth it for me on my Xd
I have the X now without the inner dome (X+ was not in stock then)

Not much different in size and with the X having side vents just checking if the weight for the X is correct.
Trying to compare weight to my old Armo mk2 (12.5kg)

Those weights seem to be right , this is with a bag with 3x too many bivvy pegs + solid, transparent, camo and mozzy mesh infill door panel, so if you only take what you need you save some extra weight.
I only put my bivvy/ storm poles in the bivvy bag, pegs/groundsheet/vapor peak all goes in another compact bag

Pretty sure an armo mk2 was only 7.5kilos without any add ons. I used mine this week and its much lighter than my frontier x.
