So if you catch covid after March 24th you won't be able to get a test to know if it is covid and no measures will be in place for financial support if you feel a moral obligation to isolate.
The figures were reported in such a way as to justify the freedoms Boris' soirées forced his hand to grant today, even though they were no worse than those we were conditioned to fear until now.
So theoretically, if you caught suspected covid, who will be self isolating at their own cost?
Oh and good luck tomorrow, Mal. Let us know what percentage of kids still wear a mask..

It's been less this time round. I think some still will which is all good for them.
We've definitely been hit with staff isolating- here's hoping that settles down a bit once we've all had it!

I struggle to understand why people are unhappy about the situation, they're saying you don't HAVE to wear a mask or isolate when infected etc. Not that you can't if you feel obliged or can afford to.

Noj- fair point. But let's not kid ourselves into thinking the announcements are anything other than an attempt at spin to try and save Boris. They relaxed the restrictions because they knew they'd never get the support of enough mp's to extend them in a vote

I agree mate, it's cringeworthy. As sun dance points out the data they are using to justify the easing is worse or equivalent to that which kept us in limbo too, only now they are publishing the figures for people in hospital who have tested positive without detrimental health impact and implying some of those dying within 28 days of testing positive would be likely to have died naturally anyway. It's making a mockery of their previous messages and will be like curry to a piss head for the antivax and conspiracy loons

It is.about the numbers. NOT the individual. Whatever protection a vulnerable or just unlucky individual gets from working from social distancing, mask wearing, and isolating on infection, only works when the majority are doing it.

This is true but in fairness to them, the numbers were on the rise and severity of Omicron was unknown at the time and when they dropped restrictions the numbers were in decline.
But in principle I agree they have been a bit quick in dropping restrictions, and we all know why that is.
