Very very different. And a complete cynical Distraction.
It was in a whole different stage in the Pandemic. A year later than the harsh lockdown of 2020.
Different levels of social distancing. It was AFTER 'eat out to help out'. After 'get back to the office you plebs' and after Johnson said 'let the bodies pile high'.
It was a takeaway in a late night work environment in April
And he had a beer.
IF that's the best they have as a counter attack against Johnson and his staff partying in Number 10 all throughout the first lockdown then it just shows how desperate they must be.

It's just another nothing gesture from a failing government. The equivalent of a bunch of garage forecourt flowers bought on the way home when you forgot your wedding anniversary because you were busy with your secretary....

Not everyone is a rich as you Mal. £13 a month for some people on benefits is a lot of money.
I'm not saying the BBC shouldn't be funded but a concept devised in 1924 needs an overhaul.

But I do know what you're saying. And I'm not dismissing any form of financial hardship. Quite the opposite
My point is that it's just another crap distraction tactic. Cutting vat on fuel bills would save a damn sight more than the lack of increase to the 13 pound TV licence fee.

Maybe they'll pick a moment to cut the vat on fuel at an optimum time when it suits their action plan to regain popularity?
The argument against a vat cut is those rich people with heated swimming pools stand to make the biggest savings.

The full motive for the TV license debate was part of operation red meat, which was to throw a load of policy announcements out which would bolster support for boris from his back benches. Those right wing lunatics love things like sonic cannons to deter immigrants, and defund the 'left wing' BBC. This was all part of operation save big dog - which was to save Boris from his own party.

Thing is Wayne, I don't necessarily disagree with you entirely. As I have posted, my sister was one of those care staff who was sacked (her clinical exemption was not on the government list) so I've seen the first hand effect.
She tested before each shift and took time off when she was very ill with the early covid variant.
But...
Those who are in direct and regular contact with the most vulnerable- be that down to age, health, low immunity- and still choose for non clinical / medical reasons to not be vaccinated are putting others at risk.
It's not totalitarian mandatory vaccination. It's logical employment conditions to protect 'clients' (not the ideal word but hopefully you see my point)
If they were to u turn for the NHS staff then there are two issues - the disparity with care staff and the ongoing risk to vulnerable patients

Care staff I totally understand as generally their working with the elderly and vulnerable (most at risk) in a hospital you could be dealing with various people......midwives for instance......working with much lower risk patients, ICU staff on the other hand could be dealing with Covid patients so risk is nothing as they are already hospitalised.

It's in a few years time when the majority have zero antibody levels remaining and we're still trying to rectify the immigration brain fart of brexit, on top of having ousted 10s of 000s of unvaccinated staff that I worry about.
People won't forget the vitriol from either side when these vaccinations all stop. As far as I'm aware, neither the virus nor vaccines have killed everybody and after 3 Pfizer jabs we still can't get a 5g signal from my missus
