Nope. 98% of cases are now dealt with via video link and the other 2% are told to wait in the car park until the doctor comes out to get them. Toilets and staff room are private (staff only). She has zero contact with patients. You are right though in that she has contact with other staff members but even some of them are saying that if this does happen in April that even though they are triple vaxed they will leave. We are going to be in a real mess due to this. I only hope that the government sees sense.

I'm not so sure Dave, apparently docs can nearly double the amount of patients they see in a day via video link compared to face to face. Unfortunately the days of seeing your doctor ‘in house' may well be over. Growing up we had a family doctor who knew us all but now we just see who ever is available. We didn't think that would happen but it did and has. Times have changed, technology has moved on and there are now far too many people for how many doctors we have.
Anyway, pointless argument now as she has decided to hand her notice in. The docs were 6 members of staff down with work distributed around who was left but now they will be even more short.
Life goes on........

Again, my own personal experience with my own doctors was early on in the pandemic was video or telephone call, but back in the summer my particular doctors was back open as normal, I've yet to use the doctors during the omicron wave, but going on previous patterns, stands to reason that once the omicron wave subdues, then probably open as normal.
I hope your missus finds some work ok, and like you say life goes on

My youngest step-son has covid for the second time,he had it on the 17th October 2021 and now confirmed to have it again.He is nowhere near as ill this time,he has just got a sore throat and felt hot on the first day.It is crazy how inconsistent the schools/colleges are,my daughter goes to a high school in Cheshire East and can't return to school for 5 days,my eldest step-son can attend college as long as does a test everyday.

I'm actually ok with this. It's very much a customer facing role. They'll still get full pay if they get infected with covid themselves, which is more than fair in the circumstances.
With an average wage of 400-450 a week I'd just go and get a job elsewhere or make myself untraceable.
Would be a kick in the teeth if they were forced to isolate by being a close contact of somebody vaccinated though

It's down to repeated vague guidance/ avoiding taking responsibility from government. The buck is passed to head teachers to make decisions so you get the various sets of 'rules' .
College rules do seem to be more relaxed than schools. Usually they have smaller class sizes so less bodies in the same room I guess
