Recommendations please. 40kg/85lbs max. Decent Tare functions, able to retain the weight of my weigh sling, memory, long time-out etc.

Had the 120lb Reubens for about 5 years, been faultless. Changed the batteries for the first time at the start of this year, not because it was indicating they were low, just because I thought i should!

Yes had them before my fox digis. One of the buttons broke on mine, they just felt a bit cheap as well.

Thanks for that reply, mate. That helped me make my mind up about the Fox. I also preferred the over the RH ones, as they are more compact and a nicer hardcase.

You wont be disappointed. I took mind to work as we have calibrated weights there and were bang on up to 40kg. They wernt even an ounce out which really surprised me.

Do the fox ones stablize on a reading quickly i stopped using my reuben digis as mine were terrible trying to get them to the "hold" position even when used with a weight staff, i went back to my reuben dials which are a lot more stable

No digital scale will ever be as stable as analogue scales simply by how they work.

On digitals I found that as drips of water fell out of the sling the readings would fluctuate.
There was a hold facility but I wasn't happy that it would hold at a reading when there was still water waiting to come out.
So I'd take the hold off and put it back on again and I'd got another reading.
Done it again and got another reading
That along with worrying that battery, buttons or electronics would play up, especially in the cold made me go back analog scales.
Only disadvantage is Reuben mechanical scales can be bulky.

I bought the RH 9000 digis to run alongside my dial RH as I wanted something a little more compact for all different types of fishing, but I'm waiting to be convinced on digitals. The reason I bought the 9000 is because of RH servicing which is superb, so I know if I have issues it's not a throw away jobby.
TBH, the 9000 isn't without flaw but a review from a cayak fisherman or 2 swayed me. If you like leaving scales out in the rain these are not for you.
