Good evening all,
A question on the later alarm heads from SN, I hear the term Hybrid used and wondered what does it mean? looking at the wheel there appears to be one magnet on it?
You then have 3 levels to adjust to, normal, mid, storm, is that correct please?

the mk3 has 3 levels of volume,off medium and high, two sensitivity settings,high and low. the wheels can be bought with extra magnets to make them even more sensitive buy in my opinion that's not required with the mk3

The model I'm referring to must be a MK3 as it has 3 levels for Volume and the same for sensitivity, I borrowed them and liked how the storm function worked when there was a lot of weed moving on the wind.
I was just curious as to what the Hybrid term was referring to, but I guess it's the fact that you can adjust the sensitivity and volume from the alarm head without changing wheels.

I could be wrong (quiet normal lol) but i thought the hybrid designation referred to the cases being delrin, with a slightly different back and speaker cover

I've been using Nevs for a lot of years but if i had the budget i would definitely get a set of the delrin ones as the cases are poop. Even if you avoid cracking the bases the backs can be just as temperamental, i had one sheer clean off on a take last year

I have a set of delrins, the ones I have are sold as mk4's as they have 3 levels of sensitivity with one of them a storm setting.
Basically they don't beep until you get a proper take.

I nearly bought a set of delrins with a custom receiver not long ago but changed my mind as didnt think they were worth £700. Im not sure why they are so dear as delrin is a very cheap plastic but very tough so they should all be made out of delrin really.

Maybe the plastic cases are injection moulded and the delrin cases, machined - that would make the difference in price understandable.

Just did a bit digging and apparently they are machined from a single block of delrin.

Steve made some Andy Little re-makes out of solid Delrin, then he combined his standard design with the Andy Little re-make design which affectionately has become known as the Hybrids. Smaller in every dimension than the standard Delrin model.
There is in fact a Mk1 and Mk2 hybrid. The Mk1 is slightly smaller than the Mk2 and is non-remote. He had to enlarge the case slightly to fit the remote circuit board in, hence the Mk 2 was born. Mk1's are very few and far between.
The storm mode is the new mode on the new circuit board and is/was available in the standard case, delrin case and mk2 hybrid.
