The new fox brolly has peaked my interest. As long as that inner dome part stays inside when you pack it away, I really like the idea, however, if you need to wrestle with it trying to work out if it's inside out, or upside down or not, like you used ti have to on the old twin skin dome type bivvies, count me out.

Advantages of a brolly are quick and lightweight. This will probably weigh 10kg and they add in groundsheets, fronts and inner dome nonsense to justify the ridiculous price. If you like using a proper brolly you don't want all that junk.

Them vapour shield things are crap imo,they hold the moisture between the two layers.If you pack it away with it in place it can cause mould and wreck the fabric and seams

You don't need a ‘vapour shield' with a brolly. If you have no front you don't get condensation.

Not true. I often get condensation in a brolly or my tempest with no front. Unless you dont breath, youll still get condensation. The bank conditions youre set up on also make a difference to the amount you get

Couldn't agree more. They are trying to sell a brolly , turned into a hobbit hole. If you want a bivvy, buy a decent sized one. If you want a brolly don't spend that much.
