Hi All
Has anyone ever fitted any rear swivel wheels to their carp porter? I've got a power porter and even though it's been adjusted it never runs quite straight and also requires lifting to steer round bends which can be a pain when fully loaded.
I've seen these ‘barrow buddies' swivel wheels on eBay. They look like they'd make manoeuvring much easier. They do look very bulky though!!

I would have thought some form of vertical swivel axle could be made to go inside the leg frames, even if it only gave limited swivel and not 360 degrees it would help a lot.

There is a video on YT currently from DNA with Mark Bartlett and Mossa at Orchid lakes, one of them has a barrow with rear swivel wheels so I assume it can be converted.

Well spotted. I reckon those swivel wheels could be by the same company I mentioned but the different pattern for straight legs. The wheels look too small though on that, but the ones for slanted legs like mine use the original wheels on them, so that wouldn't be an issue.

Yeah not sure. It seems a good idea, but I wonder why the companies haven't produced any barrows using them.
I don't fancy laying out £125 and it be a mistake!

My concern with these are that it would impose a lot of load on the existing leg frames as the wheels would be some distance from the legs. I just wonder if the porter leg frames would end up failing/bending in time. To me the wheels would need to be in a similar position to where they are originally to transfer the loads properly.
Maybe I'm over thinking it!!?

Yes I have a pair on mine.
They are brilliant. They handle wet grass,rough paths and mud.
On our lake the path is quite narrow between the bivvy and the rods so steering around them is really easy.
They also help with stability.
