Had a Fishspy but got rid as decided it wasnt very good. Interested in getting a Deeper Chirp+ 2 so was just wondering who has one and are they any good? Plenty on Youtube that shows they are pretty handy. I would be looking at attaching to my baitboat to go for ultimate stealth so would need recommendations on a decent mount as well.

In my opinion yes they are good IF and only if you know how to use them.
You just have to learn how to use them.
Most of it is on the internet.
Cannot help with the type of mount as don't own a bait boat.
The important thing with while using any deeper is that the unit stays above the water surface.
This helps improve the data .

Had a play with a friends one last weekend and was impressed. The level of detail it showed was as good as my raymarine elements on my Carplounge RT4 V4. Obviously you have limited range on them but i was impressed. The app was easy to use as well with a load of different options.
Well worth the money considering what a decent sonar costs for a bait boat

Does your Raymarine Elements not have Downvision or HyperVision? Don't use a bait boat, but I've used that Sonar on a real boat and it's many levels above a Deeper.

It does and obviously it's more advanced. My point I was making is the deeper still found the same spots on a cast my boat did, gave same info ie water temp, depth etc and even though distance from cast to phone was fiddly manage to tell us how far we casted to mark the spot and wrap up accordingly. I also liked how you could choose sonar angle.
I will say it again for the money it's decent

There are good bit of kit, within their limitations (castable range) and it has certainly helped me catch fish.
Versatile, too, either pole, casting or boats of both varieties.

Yes i find them very usefull, all the connection issues of previous models have now been sorted, so they work straight out of the box as far as you can cast it.
I prefer to do any work on calm days as ideally you want the deeper to be coming back in straight line, no bow in the line. (If you're casting it)
Also use it with a marker already out in the swim, so you have a static point of reference. patrol the deeper past it untill you find a feature that you are looking for.
You can even see the line of the marker rod so you can you see exactly where the lead is sat in relation to the surrounding topography. Use it with a tablet rather than a phone as its easier to interpret the features on the bigger screen.

Was hoping to just attach it to my boat so as not to use a marker rod anymore. Trying to go down the ultimate stealth route although the Deeper isnt going to tell me whether im on hard or soft lake bed.

Ah right, ok. Might be ordering one very soon then.
I see they do a boat mount for £40 but see many on Ebay a lot cheaper.

One thing to mention is some devices work better with the deeper for example I could connect to my deeper at 95 yards with my Samsung S6 ,I now have a oppo phone and lucky if it will connect at 70yards.

Yes the deeper will indicate whether you are on soft or hard bottom, gravel shows up well.
I found it easier to map with a marker out there but of course you can just use it with the boat and drop in likely looking places.
