I know it's had a lot of great reviews of this brolly but I just wanted to know how do owners set it up pole in ground? Or storm poles ?
it seems very high with nothing holding front down every peg point is at back with pole seems like a strong wind would blow it away

Pole in ground + pegs. Use mine for short sessions.

If you place it with the wind from behind theres no problem, as with every other brolly.

I keep pole in and use pegs, but angle the pole so it's perpendicular. I only use it with a chair though, if I do a night the tempest comes out. If it's windy I keep pole at the normal angle so it's sits a bit lower. Pole does get in way but fine if you just have a chair and a bag etc. Guess storm poles would be best option but haven't used any yet with it

The biggest problem is where I fish getting the pole in ground I have a Gardner spike but still struggle to me they should have put longer sides on so the front is pegged like the korum one

I put two guide ropes on two of the top spokes. That was of can't get the pole in the ground can just peg at the back and tie one or both of the guide ropes to a peg if you get me. Makes it solid and used it like that in strong winds

Funny enough I did exactly the same too guide ropes on front spokes as I said it would be much better to have put sides on it's like a sail otherwise

How do you use a gardner spike with the pole it comes with?

Peg down at the rear and two storm poles on the top two spars with NGT adaptors - you'll need to purchase two more storm pole adaptors from Fox (the stock adaptors are fitted on the lower spars and are a little superfluous) which can be fitted tool free in seconds - this way you can remove the centre pole and position the brolly as low as required - 36" adjustable are probably the most versatile, 48" can be a little long unless you splay them / fit them at a longer angle in front etc . .

The storm pole adaptor ref is CUM219-17 (its also a spare for the Ultra 60 Brolly) - you'll need two of these - contact and purchase at Fox direct

Thanks mate already changed storm adpators to front and have ngt adapters and storm poles but again it's getting the storm poles in ground tried it once couldn't get them in gust of wind came the brolly took off every brolly I've used over 40 years of carp fishing has sides to peg down
I don't get these silly little sides it has they have no use

1 - Always set up brolly's with back to the wind (or worst case at an angle)
2 - Erect with centre pole in place and add storm poles to front (preferably augered points that can screw into ground)
3 - Nip around the back and peg out fully
4 - Remove centre pole
5 - Adjust storm poles at front to height required
6 - Job done

Fox centre pole is quite short so you could leave it in (90 degrees upright) and add further tension - personally think it just gets in the way especially in heavy rain where you want to sit right back under the brolly . . .never had a prob with this brolly; personally think its solid. Out of the Drennan 44 / Korum Supalite and the Fox Specialist (and yes I own all three) for flat surfaces / days (ie lakes) this is the best . . .

My storm poles have screw in points can't get them in to many stones I still think it would be a lot better to have sides like the korum one
The trouble is the tackle companies do bonkers things I was going to buy the korum then I found out they don't put storm caps on the new one so can't use poles but they had them on the older one why change

This brolly was originally designed for specialist / river anglers and the high front is to enable you to see your tips when fishing tips up . . .oversize sides are just added weight and arguably unnecessary - eg the Drennan 44 doesn't have any and its also not a full flat back design which means even less pegging points etc . . . if you're after a heavier shelter why not use something more substantial like a bigger 50" . . . I ditched (perhaps regrettably) my Wychwood Solace HD50 as it was just a little OTT for days . .
