I'm after a lipo battery for my power porter can someone point me in the right direction of which battery is best suited regarding what mah ? What discharge rating etc.. I've been looking on Ali express but totally blown by what lipo battery I actually need.. any help greatly appreciated 👍🏻

There was a bit on the website that tells you not to use Lipo batteries. They don't supply Lipo or offer them as an option in spares and accessories for this reason.

Quite right
The controllers are not designed for Lipo's etc only SLA so although it would work your warranty ‘in theory at least' will be voided.
Probably effect the controller over time IMO
Be carefully also with Lipo's maybe Li Ion or better still LiFe or LifePO4 safer and last much longer also better at low and high temps too.

I've their 24 volt version,4 yrs now, never a problem with the battery......
But when I get to my swim I always unplug it to stop any possible battery drain,also when home...great bit of kit 👍👍

I do the same. Mine is very old. Always take off the
Switch arm, and the battery. Stick them under the bed.
Then stick a waterproof cover over it. Must be over 13 years old now that
Powerporter.

go for the highest ah you can carry,or afford, you will get the same voltage, but the higher ah will last go further and longer.
if your carp porter is 12volt [one battery] or 24volt [two batteries] the same applies.
carp porter use lead acid, or gel batteries, lipo apart from being much more expensive are not recommended, and may even damage your components.
obviously all connections need to be clean and secured adequately.

if nothing is drawing power there wont be any more battery drain than having it disconnected.
I take it you don't disconnect your cars battery.
batteries can give off flammable gases when fully charged so be careful with naked flames [cooking,smoking, etc,] when placing them anywhere.

You are thinking of the old tech vented 12v batteries you had to top up with water. Carp porter use modern sealed lead acid batteries.

Do you really think a small lead acid battery (even if they weren't sales) would vent enough gas for it to explode in a tent, just from being moved? And it would vent whilst being used, so wouldn't be building up in the battery, plus how would you be charging it in the bivvy?

It's just something I do with the barrow, weather it helps or not,I feel better about it😏
Of course I don't do same with car(bmw) id be looking a t all sorts of probs🤣
