Who is the go to courier in your experience for prices? I have had a quick search around but with insurance some of the prices are £40+

If its under 150cms then Royal Mail tracked and insured is waaay cheaper - recently sent a 3piece 13' Acolyte for £10 and insured for £150

Look on interparcel or parcel 2 go website put the dimension in and weight it will give you a list of courier I found to post rods now is very expensive with very basic Insurance. Don't use Hermes/Evri or Yodel/collect+ their the worst 2 of the lot

I used Paisley Freight to post a fishing rod after it was recommended by one of the members on here and they were excellent.... They state fishing rods covered on their site.

Ill take a look at all the suggestions below! Ive not heard of some of them so its given me some options.

I send rods almost every other week i currently use ups but they are all crap they at the moment are the best of a bad bunch.To send yours is going to be expensive £50 plus.

Tuffnals via interparcel.... will cost £35 upwards though.... and as said, they are all as bad as each other - if they run out of time to deliver its getting launched back into a warehouse somewhere!

Just a quick update on this for anyone who needs to be posting rods any time soon.
I had a look round all the sites mentioned and ended up using a service on Parcel2go, cost £26 and is insured up to £250. Not bad given that the tube itself is over 7ft
Also just thought id add, if anyone is buying rod tubes to send them in don't bother, go to the local carpet shop and they have heavy duty cardboard tubes that they will give you for free.

Just checked and its tuffnels. I have no idea why, but the quote from them direct was much more expensive.

I currently have two seperate cases in the small claims court against tuffnells totally destroyed 1 set of torrix and lost 1 set of aviators .I would,nt be using them anytime soon !!

Watch out for brokers that use main couriers. They are a bit cheaper because they use bulk orders with the big courier firms - Tufnell, UPS, Herpes etc etc. however should the courier cock up and lose them or damage them then your claim is with the broker not the courier - this is where it unravels because the brokers are committed to never paying out, hiding behind small print.
Worst one is Parcel Hero. Terrible firm, Lowest of the low and should be drummed out of business if the Regulator's weren't toothless and useless. Bunch of ****s.
