Hi guys im just starting carping and have looked at few rods online and looked at posts about number of rods!
what would be better rod out of daiwa infinity x45 or harrison aviator plus
or would something be better!
Not really sure what TC or length but will be medium/large waters like linear and if could take to france if catching the carp fishing bug!

I have to say if I was starting carping again I'd not be wasting money on expensive rods...for what you get it simply isn't worth it.
Far better to invest in other tackle items or maybe even go for two different test curve sets of rods.
Say a 2 3/4 tc set for all your general carp fishing and a set of 13 footers for if you need to go for the big chuck or PVA bag work.

that does make sense buddy! must say im a tackle tart though and like the best tackle even though not got skill to get best out of it! im the guy who swapped all his fishing gear to start again because his new jacket did not match!

This isn't going to be much help but if you're able to go to a local shop that has stock go and have a look and feel of them as you may prefer the feel of one over the other.
They will also have lots of other options too so you can compare.
With you being a "tackle tart" too it also depends on what you think is tartier, if that's one main selling point you could go down a worm hole of lots of different options that are "tartier" than those two options.
Choosing new gear can be exciting but a ballache too. Lol

You may as well get some rods custom built Tom at Cotswold Rods or a rod builder near you. You can try them out probably worth getting some tuition first.

I've got some torrix and I've got some shimano velocity rods, among others. The torrix, although lovely, are not 300 quid better than the shimanos.
I won't ever buy mega expensive rods again unless money is no object.

You could use cotswold if you prefer the idea of custom rods to ever acually being in possession of them

If your starting out look at the Shimano TX2 range - very capable tools at a more than reasonable price point. Once you've really got the bug then look at 'upgrading' . . .just remember carp fishing is an affliction, not a hobby!

I had these - great rods for a great price. Terry Edmonds recommended them to a friend in store.

Daiwa make superb blanks but never really liked the fittings they put on them especially minima guides.

Iv had a lot seen a few say they dont like the Alps reel fitting! is it just uncomfy in hand? of something else?
what fittings do most use then? like the fuji or Hi-S fittings?

May be sorted now, but when i got my rods built with black fuji seat, i was advised against it by the rod builder as the paint chipped easily. I ignored said advise and went for thwm anyway, and they have all chipped
