I have been looking at a new bedchair and heard good reports about the Solar SP C-Tech. They seem quite high off the ground with the legs not extended. My question is I use a tempest v2 brolly & v2 bivvy, I'm just under 6ft and am worried about headroom?

Anyone else use this combination? Thanks

Yep,got v2 bivvy and got plenty of headroom in that.I had the v2 brolly and my head was close to the roof on that.Best bed I have owned by a mile

I wonder why

Great bed but I don't like the fact it doesn't fold flat with a sleeping bag in it.......once on the barrow and various bags on top of it I'm worried it's straining the hinges?? Anyone had any issues?

Probably the best set of hinges on any bedchair ever.

I've had the Avid Restbite and Bench Mark and now the Solar ands it's superb it is firm which great imo I might get an air mattress though. Used one for decades and stopped using it when I purchased the Avid bedchairs problem with the Avids in my opinion was the support there wheee good but not as good as the Solar if I could use the Benchmark memory form on top of the Solar i think I'd be in heaven.

I wouldn't worry Wayne, it's a very robust bedchair. I've got a big bag on it and the hinges are kooshty 👍

It's funny you mention this. Had a crap Fox bedchair 🤬 which was sagging like an old geezer's set of knackers, so I put a big mattress on it which sorted it. Initially when I got the Solar bedchair I was like 'cor, this narf hard' in comparison to my wa.k Fox thing, a few more nights on it and have never once thought about getting a mattress for the Solar.

I always sleep so well on the Solar bedchair, actually sorts my back out after a hard weeks collar at the coalface. We're all different, maybe a mattress might be for you.

What does make me laugh is that For were to originators of fishing specific bedchairs, b to n making them for years, Solar come along and their very first bedchair is better than anything For has ever punted out...mazzin.

I think a lot of the bedchair improvements (various makes)are down to the later lumber support designs which imo are significantly better than the first elastic to bedchair frame, which was then slightly improved by parachord to frame (trakker called it els)
From reports it does seem solar have made some good bedchairs

You read my mind.

With Fox being the first specialist bedchair manufacturer, aimed at anglers, I think they rested on their laurels and let other brands catch up and overtake them, Chub, Trakker, and Nash especially.
I can remember my first Fox bedchair, the frame went into pockets on the material at either end, and was corded in the middle, was it the Ultra?

Solar have developed their gear, and gotten into bedchairs with not necessarily new innovations, but researched and developed things properly, like most things they do.

I have a Solar Undercover bedchair, and to be honest, in the short time I have owned it, is probably the best bedchair I have had. It is while not the lightest, I think the most comfortable.

The only Fox one I remember from way back was my mates Madocks one.(the KM bedchair) he gave me, square framed, was that the one, all 80's retro?

I was highly sceptical with the guy banging on in the shop about the Solar bed, and tought I was being scammed as they hadn't sold a lot of them, had reduced the price I think to under £300 and was just trying to clear th stock. Took a punt and have been so impressed ever since...the guy was being genuine in the shop.
