Just recently i had the misfortune of taking my mates grandson fishing here in Spain ...he is a 20 something "Carp Angler "
who is mega at catching 20's n 30's on his local 1 acre puddle and Linear with his mates
so i took himto my local puddle all 525 acres and his jaw dropped ....dont think he's even seen the sea even when flying over it !!!
Anyway after deciding what mega rig to tie and how many wraps to fish ...it was time for social media and tell his mates he was fishing with 2 old dinosaurs who know fook all
thats when it started to go downhill as we have no phone signal where we were fishing FFS so threw the toys out of the pram
then the wind picked up quite significantly and was messing his hair up
in his selfies
so he sulked off to sit in the car where it wouldnt mess his hair up !!!!!
the straw that broke the camel's back was my Mrs telling him not to smoke in our car
and he said how dare she lecture him ....i had to go for a walk ....not a word was spoken in the 80 mile drive home but i did think about my mrs being more hardcore in her little finger than this spoilt little brat in the back of my car will ever acheive in fishing or even life
any way this was an old video / project i had never finished and though yeah sod it put it for him to watch

Only been there once and that was a “taster weekend” in a very cold February about 15 years ago.
What a brilliant weekend it was too, never caught anything but had a great time (especially in the bar/restaurant) and the scenery is stunning.
Promised myself a trip out there to do it properly one day, thanks for sharing.

and you bought back memories of 2012 when I fished the Ebro at Mequinenza catching Cats and Carp was brilliant fishing the carp has cat slime on it as I had just landed a big cat when the other rod roared off caught a few carp after that

Hi All,
A friend brought his son (18 I think) and his friend into the pub for dinner a few weeks ago. Usual pub chat then onto fishing, apparently not only keen "fisho's" (that's what they call us here), but also quite accomplished.
Somehow I mentioned the hair rig (huge mistake). So firstly I had to try to explain it which bought out the first giggles, then I drew it which bought out actual laughter and a "taking the piss" comment.
So I thought I'd stoop to their level and go "tech". First image google chucked up was a bright pink pop up on a knotless knot hair rig, they could not stop laughing about it all night.
Saw Dave (the dad) on Saturday and the youngsters apparently still think it's a wind up.

I'm pretty sure that for the first time ever a whole generation of young anglers have just simply missed the whole ethos and point of angling so much so it's quite sad. 
great to see it stirred up a few memories for a some people ...Mequinenza could be full on sometimes and we certainly had a few adventures along the way with some crazy people but those stories will allways remain

I thought I'd fished expanses of water until I looked at 40 billion acres of Pacific Ocean with no guide and just a couple of rods

Dale Hollow is a lovely place, Wandle1.
26k acres, lots of carp, many nice and scaly.
If you come, you would want to rent a pontoon boat for a week, to access the most productive areas.
Us ‘locals' tend to fish the primitive camping bank areas, where the fishing, at times can be somewhat slow.....
