Apologies for the double post as I've asked this over in the photography thread but it's very quiet over there and I need to get something sorted for next week
I'm after a light to help with night shots and looking through previous threads a cheap clone of the Rhino light gets recommended a lot. I've seen this one which is very basic

Is this all I need or would I be better off with something with a variable colour balance \ dimmable leds etc
I appreciate there's only a few quid difference between various models so it's not a price thing but moreif the extras are not something I'd ever need then no point getting them as it's just something else to go wrong

Yep that's the same light light I use little bit cheaper on eBay runs on 2 AA batteries and turns on by a dial which adjusts the brightness of the light

I got the 96 LED version with adjustable brightness, white lens and orange lens.

excuse my ignorance .... are every day anglers now illuminating whole swims at night so they can get a photo nowadays?

I hope not but when you read 'best torch' threads it does seem some people want to light up the whole lake.
I'd like to think small LED units with adjustable brightness can be used sensibly.

Well you would hope a headtorch could be too,I try not to use any light if I catch at night.I don't want anyone knowing I have caught,if its seen suddenly the swim that once was hardly fished becomes very busy

Dunno, to get a bit better pic quality possibly? Or because they use a phone instead of a proper camera and the flash is crap? Tbh the quality of pics using something like a rhino beam is way better than without, and if its done in a way that the light doesnt bother others then I dont see the problem. It's certainly way less annoying than the 12000000 lumen head torches many seem to use these days to do everything as soon as the sun starts to go down.

Nailed it on the head about using the phone, can't even get it to focus hence why I need some light.
If I have the light facing away from the water and only on for as short a time as possible can't really see why it should bother others overly.
