Looking at getting a lakeside bbq my 15 quid pot one is useless for what i want

Im into my bbqing at home and have a Weber 57 kettle and smokey mountain but looking for any user feed back on either the Smokey jo or the Go anywhere to use when fishing

I liked the smokey Jo, but found it a bit bulky for just myself, and I got an extension to turn it into a mini smokey mountain for family trips.
I've now got a cheap and cheerful portable with lid, think it was £7.50 for when I want to use charcoal, but use the cadac safari more.

The cobb grills look decent but expensive and too bulky for me

as you know a BBQ is rubbish without a lid on anything but a windless day cant see why anyone would pay silly money for a BBQ that wont cook as well as this and it can carry your bag of charcoal inside to win win

For me, it's the go anywhere.

Better vent access if you want to try and control temperatures. Two vents on the top to help control direction of air flow.

I think it's slightly better for indirect cooking.

my mate has one and im pretty jel.
Looks really useful and well thought out. did all the cooking on it on our last trip breakfast lunch dinner

I've got a Weber gbs at home and a go anywhere for on the bank camping etc..

It's a lot more than others but I'm a Weber fan boy and if your already familiar with them I'd go for it. been very pleased with mine I brought the carry bag as well and it's small enough to carry and pack away

That the one I've got, grab them late august/September for under a tenner. Just about big enough for a spatchcocked chicken if there's a couple of you going.

Not weber quality obviously but easy enough to keep it serviceable for a couple of years
I do miss the Jo and extension ring tho, beer can chicken on the bank is

must admit the fact you can get an extension to make it a mini WSM is appealing

It's a bloody good bit of kit, but value wise it seems poor value compared to the little portables. I think I paid £30 for the extension, which came with a water pan and grill (obviously not weber at that price). I did use it for low slow cooks at home, but I bough the extension just for the beer can chicken when out really, most portables and small grills don't have the height to do it.

I recently bought the mini Expert gas BBQ Grill. Yes a bit more of a pain to carry a small 5kg bottle of propane but this is a really good piece of kit for £60.

Fold away legs, top shelf, lid, easily cook for 3-4 people. Without doubt one of my best buys this year.
