Wanting to purchase a sail shade.
The website where I'm looking to purchase from not only is this a requirement ‘when filling in the measurement boxes before it'll allow me to proceed' but the sale ends at midnight.
Does anyone know please the diagonal measurement of a rectangle measuring 3.6M x 2.5M?.
Many thanks,

Hi mate. I have to put in the boxes in inches.
Is 4383mm approximately 172.5 inches please?.

Asked Siri for conversion to inches and for once didn't say ‘I found this' but gave answer straight away.
Thank you mate appreciate that.

Just tap that question in to Google for instant results
Noj's size is correct assuming the corner is square, which is a recipe for a fu** up

No worries mate, don't want your builder measuring it
As Duggs said, and I'm distancing myself from responsibility of, you can forget that if it's not square.
Might have to pull out the old 3, 4, 5 trick to check

Cheers lads.......
Will see if it fits correctly ‘bit of jiggery pokery no doubt' to fit it to the uprights that I've had to fit to an existing odd shaped area....
Thanks lads.
Edit - Oh, and err, the reason it's an odd shaped area is because of how that previous plonking builder put in a dividing fence......

The ones I've seen have adjustable tensioners so you should have a fair margin for error
Not sure what will come first, spin bowlers suggestion or the wall your fitting it to falling down

I reckon it'll fall down under the weight of next doors rubbish that will be thrown over.
Serious question, do you have take these sails down in windy weather?

My daughter is the neighbour lol. Well with that ex crop of cowboy builders she will be when finally moving in.
There is that regards room for the sail shade to fit which will hopefully be to my benefit....
As for sail shades I take the one I've already got ‘different area of garden' down ‘when I ordered the one i currently use they never requested a diagonal measurement'. Just leave the bracket up that is screwed to its post but take off the turnbuckle etc. Easily takes down in seconds.

It's the square of the other 2 measurements (squared) added together >
3.6 x 3.6 = 12.96
2.5 x 2.5 = 6.25
12.96 + 6.25 = 19.21 > square of that is 4.35, it's the hypotenuse assuming the rectangle is 4 x 90degree corners

The easiest version to explain it is, as noj alluded to, the 345 rule, used by countless tradesman to set or check for square.
3x3 =9
4x4=16
9+16=25
The square route of 25=5
So a 3x4 triangle will have a 5 diagonal, If the corners are square
Get some practice in and we'll do some 3d pythagoras with 5digit numbers next week
