Anyone got the solar undercover brolly system, how do you rate it? Quick to put up/solid in poor weather?
I'm looking to add one to my collection for single overnighters. I won't normally use the front, but as it'll be mainly the Tidal Trent I'll be fishing I'll need to have one in the car just in case as the weather can turn brutal on there, so that rules out just a brolly.

Saw one on the bank this week, looked fantastic quality. The guy raved about it too, all though im unsure how bias he was. But the quality of the build amf the material looked fantastic.

looks a lot like the Wychwood MHR Mk2 but thats got a 5-year manufacturer warranty

I've looked at the Wychwood, but it's quite a bit more expensive and out of stock everywhere apart from one dodgy looking site with a 2.7 rating on Trustpilot so they're not seeing my money...

Just brolly is no good which is a shame. The tidal is completely open, and when it's windy and raining the rain can smash in sideways (had it last year twice and I'd never keep everything dry).

Not with the front though Gerry, that's why it's lighter too. I won't normally use the front, but need one just in case.

yes that wind when its raining coming across those flat fields when your stuck on top of the flood bank on the Trent you certainly need a front

My mate had the undercover brolly and he said it was like looking at the stars on a clear night whilst laying on his bedchair due to the number of pinpr1ck holes in the material....

I've got a video from last year when I fished the tidal in a storm, it was horrendous

my last Barbel session last year prior to my illness was a 48 hour and on the last night had a storm as soon as the heavy torrential rain started 02.00 till 04.00 non stop
the fish went nuts had 2 double hook ups so had to stop using 2 rods just using the one rod harder it rained the more bites cast out sometimes didnt even have time to put the rod in the rest I wont say how many doubles I had lol but I dont think I will ever come close to beating it it was on the middle too
I was using my new Wychwood tactical brolly it was perfect stood up to the winds and torrental rain and was brilliant but I never had time to get in it when it was raining I have a 45" cheap brolly over my chair next to my rods when Barbel fishing
and reel my rods in and sleep in the bivvy during the day

Whereabouts on the middle Gerry? I normally fish Sutton on the tidal which isn't easy, but I've joined Gunthorpe Lock this year and have a few sessions booked on the island, first is a 48hr the week after next. Been two different 18's out already this season
