Hi, Can anyone please recommend a great floating hooklink which stays reasonably straight and does not require vaseline etc to keep it buoyant on the surface. I may be asking the impossible here but just wondering as I am looking at possibly the Fox Zig & Floater Hooklink. Any suggestions very welcome. Thanks a lot.

Thanks a lot for your advice. I have done very little surface / zig fishing and was not sure whether I also needed to use a floating mainline. What breaking strains do you suggest for both please?

The whole range of Nash zig/floater gear does the job for me. On the flip side, I've found the Korda floater stuff, including the poxy little controllers to be treated with kid gloves and doesn't have the same longevity.

Cheers mate, l have heard conflicting stories about the Korda tackle to be honest, especially their zig line and kruiser control.

It's the only line from Korda I actually use, the Kruiser. I've not had any issues with it and use it for both zigs and surface fishing with confidence. Not extensively tried others to compare as never felt the need to

Stroft gtm is way better than drennan double strength imo, coupled with some Gink dry fly dressing it's very good, I found it via Bryan Skoyles recommendation.

Agreed on the drennan double strength . Although I once bought 1oz instead of the 10lbs, strangely enough it kept breaking when I was tying knots.
