Anyone on here drive one of these? Wife needs a new car so any info good and bad appreciated.

If you do get one first thing you want to do is upgrade the security on it . See countless post on the Stolen car facebook pages I follow so many Range Rover being stolen due to how easy they are to nick due to the stupid keyless entry and push button start features on them

My mrs has had them for years , but i must stress she only has range rovers as we get them at vastly reduced costs as her son has/had a top job at range rover ( he still in hospital due to covid) countless things have needed attention over the years the most common the dpf filter, electrics are a problem especially the air con , had one that the auto gearbox failed ,entry system can be an issue nice cars when they are right, if i were you i would get a new one on lease with a service package as the cost when they are in the garage are horrendous .I certainly would,nt have a second hand one, She has a velar now totally different class but even more expensive !If her son dont return to his job its the last one she will have.

I have one now, my second one
Why an Evoque? perfect size for what i want in a car and meets all my requirements. I have had bigger cars and tbh, parking them plus the extra size and space is not required by me so i cannot see the point. I looked at the others, BMW X3, Audi Q3, Volvo etc and went for another Evoque.
First one was an SD4, shifts a bit, sold it with 70,000 miles on the clock, had an EGR valve and rear differential replaced, other than that, not too bad, the usual tires etc.
New one is a diesel too. Nice car, pleasure to drive and has proper off road capability, perfect for me and my fishing gear and everything else that i get up to. The sole reason why i bought another one
All depends what you want from a car for me, if you want something big and flash with 4 x 4 capability then its the bigger RR, BMW X5, Audi Q6 etc.
Edit - Regarding the security, and anybody with similar remotes or keys you want a faraday box or pouch, blocks magnetic fields

Thought there would be a few negatives about them tbh.
Boot size is the main thing, needs to take a double buggy for the two new grandkids making an appearance later this year.
Personally i like the look of the BMW 3 series estate M Sport or the 3 series Grand Tourismo but she thinks the estate is an old blokes car, she only does about 5k a year so it isn't going to get hammered or go off road!!

Boot size is small.
Probably get more in a 3 series estate, saying that, 3 series are not that big inside for the size of the car

There is also the discovery sport, bit bigger, maybe worth a look?
To be fair, built like tanks so perfect for having the kids in. In an Evoque there is not much leg room in the back. Most of the time it's my and the Mrs in mine, with kids I would say the discovery is a far better option?

My missus has not long bought a new rav4, nice enough inside, big boot, and it's a toyota so will last forever.

The 3 series Turismo is nice, but no way as practical as the estate. I can't comment on the Turismo but I've had a 5 series estate for a few years now, which is very similar to the 3.
The 2L diesel with auto gearbox is quite punchy, smooth and very economical.

I had one as a courtesy car to replace my kodiaq when a coach decided to reverse into it, hated it, had the Discovery as well. Keep my Kodiaq all day long.

I looked at one fo the convertibles recently, very underwhelmed so got a Mustang instead.
