I am looking at buying a new light weight bed-chair and sleeping bag. I am 17 stone and 6ft, so it needs to strong enough for me. I've been looking at the trakker RLX flat super light weight and the fortis X snugpak sleeping bag. The Fortis sleeping bag is very expensive but seems to be the best light weight one on the market, but I'm not sure about the bed-chair as I have seen some reviews where the angler has broken the it.
If anybody has both of these I would love to know your thoughts or a better set up please let me know.
It's been some years since I put up a topic on here, I am very much looking forward to seeing what people's thoughts are.

I have the RLX and the fortis bag.
It's perfect for me I am 6ft 15 stone.

I got a trakker rlx superlite obviously with a name like that it is light, don't take up much room either very good bit of kit with a trakker 365 sleeping bag that does me all year round, the inside zips out for the summer

Have a look at the snugpak Antarctic for winter I ceen one last week for a mummy style bag it looked pretty roomy and aparantly there's a zip in price that virtually makes it a normal bag looked a good bit of kit with out the tax

I use the super lite bed it should be strong enough
If used correctly
I think the fortis bag is expensive though
Maybe as already suggested , take a look around
I use a Gardner crash bag to keep the weight down
I had to sew ties along the perimeter to keep it secured to the bed
Maybe not warm enough for most
It amazes me how sleeping bags can't be made at a reasonable cost
With good zips and fasteners

I have a fortis bag, warmest, lightest bag I've used. I also use a wychwood tactical x bedchair which would suit you, very comfy and strong, but lightweight too, I'm heavier than you and had no problems.

I use the Trakker RLX Superlite with Fortis bag and it's very good. Haven't needed the winter lining either yet but that might be about to change.
Only gripe is the Fortis bag material is very lightweight and easy to tear, no where near as strong as my old Trakker 365 bag. Easy enough to repair with stick on patches tho if the the damage is small enough. And the zips don't feel as robust either. But I guess that's the price you pay for the incredible weight/warmth ratio.

I was in the market for a new sleeping back and looked at the fortis
For that amount of money I'd expect decent zips and more tying points
The top and bottom anchoring points annoy me as the bag moves about and goes all
scrunchy in the middle as it moves about too much
Although the two layer and overall weight does appeal to me
I'm finding my lightweight bag and mattress seem ok up until now as the mattress appears
to insulate from underneath
I always wear something inside the bag anyway, I do like playing fish in my pants😂
I'll see how my current set up goes over the next few months
And don't get me wrong I may still be tempted although I'd add some ties

the only problem I had was feeling a little cold on my back so I bought a sim this cured it but this was when I first got it on a January night with a wind chill of -4 I can never have the door down or zip done up due to suffering from claustrophobia
so possibly most people wouldnt feel it as nancys do the door up when its slightly cold
EDIT IMPORANT I forgot to say I use a bedchair cover a Gardner to cover the open zip in the winter

I've had a techlite bag since they pretty much first came out, it is lovely and light but I don't think it's the warmest of bags and these days, you won't find me knowingly doing nights when it drops below 5 degrees. Even around those temps I need a bag cover with it.

Is it worth the hefty price tag over other bags, probably not? That's not a slight on Fortis as I also have an SJ9 jacket and sallopettes and they are fantastic, the jacket is by far the best fishing jacket I've ever bought.

Thanks for you feedback guys, seems no one is currently got any stock of the trakker super light bedchair at the moment, so I am looking at the Wychwood tactical. Thanks again
