I've been lucky enough to win a set of three brand new Shimano Aero Technium Magnesium 14000 XTC reels.
They're being delivered to me from Angling Direct at some point early next week.
Obviously I was over the moon when I won them, but not so much the next day when I got made redundant!
Much as I want to keep them, money is all that matters at the moment, so they need to go asap.
What is a realistic price to put them up for?

It would not be ethical to sell them for anything other than what you put in to get them as a prize regardless of your employment situation. It would seem to me you're really asking the question seeking validation.
The only thing correct thing to do is to keep them and use them as they were intended and not to be sold on to make a profit.

I have a young family to feed and support.
Ethics doesn't come into it.
And I'm certainly not seeking validation from you or anyone else.
I'll be selling these reels and probably a great deal of my other tackle as well unless I can get back into work very soon.
Not because I want to, but because I have to.

What a pathetic view lol wow. So say I bought a car for under market value and decide to sell it. Must I now sell it for less then what people would offer due to what I paid for it?
Also reading his initial post he asked for input on worth not your views on selling them.
As for the seller. Best bet is to go on ebay etc and look at completed listings to get a good feel on worth (The last 2 new sets of 3 in Oct sold for £1250 and £1390). They are doing £1 maximum selling fee's at the moment so good time to list them on there.
As someone who is in a similar scenario as you I hope you get for them as much as possible!

It must be wonderful to be so self righteous, the old fashioned description is pompous priggery. My view is the guy is using a stroke of good fortune to support his family through hard times, like any man worth the name would do and more power to his elbow.He must get as much as he can.

been redundant a few times, not good, if the price that others have said thats what they are worth....if it was me I would sell, food in your tummy and clothes on your back is better that sitting behind a trio of nice new reels, I wish you good luck with the sale and job seek.
