Hi all, I'm after some new rods to use in canals and little rivers, using medium sized bags but no needing of casting them on the moon, just a maximum of 60 70 meters in some rare cases, I have a budget of 150 quid a rod, I've seen daiwa whisker df, shimano TX 4 and prologic c2 element, for this type of budget would you recommend me some nice bit of kit? Thank you in advance

I wouldn't buy scopes I fish canal with sonik xtractors 6ft 3lb the xtractor reacon is 8ft in all tc if you want a rod a bit longer and packs down to 30 inches

You don't need 12ft rods for the canal I find using short rods means I can put them straight out without overhanging toe path or the water so they don't get smashed up by a fast cyclists or a boat 12ft have to be put at a sharp angle my mate bought 12ft in March used them on canal twice sold them and got 6ft also with small rods you can ride a bike with them to find the fish

You are only fishing a few yards in a canal pva bags are ok you can throw most of the bait out by hand

Canals where I fish are even 60 meters wide, for this reason I prefer to use pva

Lol you can ride a bike? Unless the rules have changed riding bikes on tow paths is prohibited by British Warerways. Also the one thing that pisses most anglers off. Not to mention it is dangerous.
