Hi all, I want to buy a decent landing net that has the facility to unclip the net head once I've landed a fish. I have a budget of around £150. Any ideas? Ta.

Think so mate or maybe I'm wrong. The guy fishing close to me recently had a Solar something or other landing net that allowed him to press a button and the whole net head came away from the handle and allowed him to roll up the mesh and very safely move the fish. Unfortunately for me it was well out of my price range at around £250. I wouldn't mind something similar that didn't cost as much.

They all come away from the net head
ie the spreader block
I just stick my elbow into the arms to straighten them and they just pop out

I understand that framey. But there are landing nets and landing nets as I'm pretty sure you know.

Ì used a Shimano Tribal net for a few years - I thought it did the job fine for about £100
Then I bit the bullet and bought a Dymag - you dont want one of those - far too expensive - it's still only a landing net after all.

If your thinking of the solar p1 bowloc . which I'm guessing you are as you press a button on that the spreader block which releases the arms the block still stays attached to the landing net pole the net arms just pull of the spigot joint like other landing net arms pull out of the spreader block

I get you now.
My nets are usually about 30 quid as I usually throw them into brambles or the rats eat them laying on the ground lol

Top notch tackle do a spreader block which you can use on pretty much any net to turn it into a similar system. Weighs a ton though apparently
